About Chad and Dorothea
Born and raised near Swift Current, Chad Feil spent his formative years on a farm. After finishing high school, he studied agriculture and ranching business at Vermillion College in Alberta. It was there that he began chasing his dream of building quality performance horses.
Raised in Künzelsau Germany, Dorothea Feil grew up on the black of a horse. Dorothea began her journey with permanence horses by learning dressage, but in 2001 switched disciplines to reining with the purchase of her prize stallion, Sugar Cat Man.
She moved to Canada in 2009 after falling in love with the country and meeting her then-future husband. After spending a few years learning the business on the Feil family farm, in 2012 they purchased 220 acres north of Swift Current and CD Quarter Horses was born.
In 2016, they welcomed their daughter, Annabelle, into the world. In 2018, their son Kelby was born.
